There are so many things in the world I have opinions on, but being a small business owner I have to bite my tounge. I can not afford to come out to strongly on one side of any hot button issue for fear of alienating the other side of the argument and thus losing their business. Today though I have decided to take a stand. I am going to come right out and declare my opinion on a subject just about everyone has discussed.

Am I going to declare my political party? Who really cares about that!?!

Am I going to declare who I want to be Governor of California? I don’t live there, what would my thouhgts on the subject accomplish?

Do I feel peace is possible between Israel and the Palestinians? I might issue a thought on this if I was sure I was spelling Palestinians correctly.

No boys and girls, today I will declare my feelings on a subject that has caused wars…made brother turn against brother… torn families asunder.

Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls, there is only one clear choice in this matter…

Dick York was the better Darrin!

No clue what I am talking about? Obviously you were never Bewitched… oh my… I really didn’t just say that did I?

I remember when I was younger I would buy 2 ? 3 music CDs a week. Over the years my interest started to dwindle from a combination reasons, mainly pricing increases and what I saw as the general decline in quality of the music I was hearing.

If you ask the music industry, they will tell you I am no longer buying CDs because I am apparently downloading all the music illegally off the web. Well if you search my hard drive you will find a couple of MP3?s, but not many. You will most definitely not found any current music though. If I don?t want a piece music, even as an illegally downloaded MP3, why would anyone think I want to pay $18 to buy it on CD?

While I am encouraged by what I have read in the news today, I still don?t see the music industry saving itself. Musicians are being wildly overpaid and it is time that the record companies stop asking us, the general public, to pay these outrageous sums by charging us outrageous prices. I will not argue that the rise in internet downloading has hurt sales of CDs, but it is almost a ?which came first situation?. Are sales hurt because of the downloading, or has the rise in downloading been caused by the over-the-top prices we have been asked to pay?

At least we can say one thing is, at least we aren?t the highest priced country for CDs. Pick up a new Jpop CD in Japan sometime?.3500 Yen. As of this moment, that would be $29.97.

I am an unabashed TV Junkie. I can’t help myself. I know it’s bad for me, but I just simply must watch TV. I am sure I will go into more depth on this later, but two things prompted me to bring this up now.

1)I don’t know why, but I had never watched The West Wing when it started. A friend of mine told me I needed to watch it, so when Bravo began showing it a few weeks ago, I gave it a try. I am *SO* hooked now! While I have some little quibble’s with the shows research staff, the characters are tight from the first minute. Paticuarlly the relationship between Deputy Chief Of Staff Josh and his assistant, Donna. Please check out Bravo for showtimes, or in November you can pick up the DVD set. *shameless plug*

2)Now, over on the little known network Trio this week they are running a special on their series “Brilliant, But Cancelled”, they will be showing failed pilots of television series. For instance, did you know there were plans for a tv series based on the movie “Fargo” starring Edie Falco from “The Sopranos” as the sheriff? How about Kiefer Sutherland in a series based on the movie “L.A. Confidential”?

For those unfamiliar with what a “pilot” is, it is the first episode of a series done as a test to see if any networks are interested in purchasing it. I highly recommend checking out this rare oppurtunity to see these failed pilots. Some will suprise you they never made it to TV, others you will quickly realize why they didn’t make it:)

One thing I do like about blogging for sure…I can do it from anywhere. I can’t wait for my next trip to Japan so I can do updates from there instead of trying to fill everyone in when I get back.

I know, how sad, I go to Japan and I still can’t tear myself away from the computer. When you spend as much time working with one as I do nowadays, it almost feels like an extension of yourself. Luckily the hotel I stay at provides free internet hookups in a little office center with 8 comps. So I just stop in, plop myself down and get to do all my work really quick. Trust me, I don’t spend much time in there, and do spend quite a bit of time outside the hotel:)
