News is hitting the world today of a new form of internet attack, especially malicious in the way it is delivered. According to this story on CNN Money, this new attack is delivered by being hidden in pictures. No downloads, no emails to open, just visiting the page will deliver the viral load.
Now, the good news, according to this article, the load does effect all versions of Windows since Windows 95, but, it is only delivered via Internet Explorer. So, for now, you are safe using Firefox (my fave), Netscape, Opera and a few others. This also means Mac users (hush up Luis and Dave) are safe from the virus.
Microsoft expects to have a security patch ready by January 10th. In the meantime, switch to Firefox NOW!
