How many have your name?

  • Well, I wouldn’t get too excited. The page told me that there were zero people in the U.S. who had my last name, when I know for a fact that there are at least a few dozen, maybe hundreds–the few dozen number comes from listings on common Internet phone/identity lookup sites. And I happen to know of at least two people with my exact first and last names (not the middle name)–one who went to Yale, and one who teaches in California.

Obviously the service does not tap in to name lists very well; if it can’t even find people listed in the common online white pages/phone directories, what good is it?

Sorry to rain on the parade…

  • You’re going to tell me next that there’s no Santa aren’t you?

Yeah, I don’t put a whole lot of credit in this, but I do actually know there is a high chance I am the only Sean Aune here, though there is one in Canada for sure.
