Since I used to be a huge KISS fan and Gene was my favorite, watching him poorly act out the role of goofy, well-meaning rock papa just makes me cringe. If he were a better actor or if the script read closer to what his real character is, I think it wouldn't be so bad. However, I agree with you that the kids are great and full of charm.
