I really have nothing to share on the actual Don Imus controversy, but, what I do have to share is yet more head shaking at journalism. There are some mini polls on America Online today:
Gee… not what the media is relaying is it? The part tthat kills me though is:
At the time of this writing, 75% of the respondents find the coverage to be excessive. You mean… like Anna Nicole Smith coverage was excessive?
For this wondering about the notes on the polls:
NOTE: Poll results are not scientific and reflect the opinions of only those users who chose to participate. Poll results are not reflected in real time.
Fine, I don’t care if it’s not scientific, I don’t care that’s not real time, 75% is an awfully large number to overcome. The media HAS to begin doing a better job of reigning in their enthusiasm for “easy” stories. All they continually do is annoy their public by beating a story like a dead horse. There was no way this story deserved THIS much coverage. Yes, it needed coverage, but nowhere near the amount it got. Journalists and news organizations need to learn the term “moderation”
It seems I’m not the only one who thought this week’s 24 felt like a season ender, not hour 17. Seriously, just end this season. It’s sub-par, rehashed, and an embarrassment.

In other 24 news, it seems they enjoyed the recent South Park parody so much, they sent the SP guys one of the suitcase nuke props from this season to display in their office. Story here and pictures.

“D-Yikes” was tonights episode of South Park… I literally had a tear run down my face I was laughing so hard. It covered…
- Transgender people
- Lesbians
- Lesbian sex
- Illegal alien day workers
- The movie “300″. (This is Les-Bos!)
I would give anything to sit on a story meeting in their offices.
Yes… my grammar sucks. Read any blog entry, you’ll notice.
My sentence structure is abysmal.
However, I have had a dream since I was four years old… to write a novel. I started this week writing the character breakdowns… I have the plot in my head… I’m worried about length, I may need to scale down the overall story. I have no clue how to successful sell a novel, but it’s something I have to do for my own sanity. If I don’t just sit down and do it at some point, I’ll never know if it was even possible.
Sadly I can’t give any hints to what it is about, what the characters are like, nothing, as I have not copyrighted anything, so putting it out for web consumption would be stupid of me. And even talking about it is probably silly, because I am sure a year from now, someone will ask me “How’s that novel going?” and I will cry like a little girl…
Was that too much info?
So… we will see how this goes, and I am crossing my fingers and hope I can actually pull something together worth reading.
So, I’m not sure what’s happening, but my sleep is getting weirder and weirder. The oddest moment yet is when I jumped out of bed this morning, a full hour before I needed to be up, and started just walking around. No, I don’t think I was sleep walking because I was aware I was doing it.
I really have zero clue what this is. Normally if I have restless nights, I just toss and turn, but this is a first just randomly walking around randomly.
Sir Alex Ferguson needs to be boiled in oil. Manchester United winning the cup this year seemed a certainty… until recently. Chelsea is on fire, and only 3 points back from the Red Devils.
Why does it seem it ALWAYS comes down to Chelsea?!? I mean, seriously, we can NOT get away from them! We lost 2 – 0 today, while Chelsea won 1 – 0, closing the gap to the current 3. We’re down to the final games… I may cry.
This story is just laugh out loud funny. Trent Reznor, founder of the band Nine Inch Nails, decided to leak MP3s of his new album, Year Zero, via hidden USB drives in the bathrooms of his concerts. What a way to build buzz! It’s like a treasure hunt for fans, and builds good will all around.
Some ass over there got wind of this and sent out cease and desist letters to the websites hosting the songs. Here’s the problem though, the band AND their record label, Nothing/Interscope, signed off on this promotion. This was a fully approved, legal “leak” of songs, the RIAA had no right to step in. Course, since when did the RIAA let something silly like “what’s right” get in their way?
Apparently, every record company now has to run their pr plans by the RIAA before starting it to make sure they don’t go nuts on them again.
Some friends swore up and down I have blue eyes, so, I had to prove them wrong. I just also really liked the idea of my blog staring at you… you especially Roy… put down the Roadster brochure… ewwww that’s just just wrong man… just so wrong.
I’m not a big fan of bands doing covers songs, just never been my thing. Once in awhile though, one gets my attention and… well, you judge. (Thanks to JL over at Little Lost Robot for pointing this out in his blog)
Black Eyed Peas – “My Humps”
Alanis Morissette – “My Humps”
I have to say, I think I oddly prefer Alanis Morissette’s version…
Songs will still be $.99 for 128 kbps, and with DRM. DRM free will be $1.29 and be 256 kbps. If you have already purchased EMI released songs, you can upgrade them for $.30 per song.
This is a great day for the music industry, and for consumers!
