There's a bull here that is waiting to be taken by the horns and an opportunity ripe for the picking for someone with the investment scratch. If radio starts to dry up because of this absurdity, the internet becomes a logical place for people to sample music directly from artists who are not releasing on major labels.

The opportunity here is for someone to set up a site which makes it easy to sample music that suits their tastes without having to do pointless searches or wait for word of mouth. In other words, someone needs to do the audio equivalent of YouTube and welcome bands who want exposure but aren't shackled to the RIAA. I imagine there are plenty of good groups out there who play locally and burn and produce their own discs to sell at shows that could be a part of such a thing and who could use it to drive listeners to their own sites where they can sell their music as well as promote their shows.
