Yeah, the iPhone is one of those cross-market items and I think Apple is waiting to see the reactions before introducing more products that might compete with the iPhone.

Yep, that’s exactly why he think he did it also. However, seeing as I am currently at a 60gb player, I don’t see myself going down. I also have a cell contract through April and, no way I’m jumping on the first gen iPhone. So… he can keep waiting for more money from me.

The reason there are no new iPods is that they’re hoping you’ll buy an iPhone instead. They don’t want consumers to be torn between spending $300 on a new iPod and $600 on an iPhone. All the geeks itching for a new toy will have one choice and that’ll be the iPhone.
