Luis - I think where we differ in this one. KotC went so over-the-top that I couldn't do anything but shake my head starting with the fridge scene... and then the monkey scene... and then the aliens... it just got so out of control I couldn't do anything but slump in my chair and drop my jaw. As for ruining the previous movies for me, it didn't, but I felt for the memory of Indiana Jones.

As for an episode about the raping of the SP gang... well, we have three more seasons, so I would expect that in season 15 :P

Justin - I took the repeating of the rape to be like you see in movies such as The Accused where you see the rape from every conceivable angle and hear each witnesses take on how it happened. I may have been reading too much into it, but that's how I took it.

I have to say that I found it way over the top as well. I am far less concerned about moviemakers taking a classic and reworking it badly, or adding bad sequels. The originals are timeless and unchangeable in their way, and are not harmed by subsequent failures, at least in my opinion. I know a lot of people kind of feel that these works are sacrosanct and that anything like a bad sequel sullies them, but I just can't go along with that.

Actually, I found myself reacting like Butters did at the end--I kinda liked the last Indy. Look at it this way: it was a hell of a lot better than "The Temple of Doom," and that movie was supposed to be part of the classic Indy legacy that was "raped."

Maybe one reason I liked the latest Indy movie is that I have a strong tolerance for stories that go too far, that become too ridiculous or extreme. Which only highlights how bad I thought this South Park episode was, because it broke that tolerance. But I'm not worried about the classic episodes of South Park being ruined because of this one I didn't like--hell, South Park goes to extremes and misses the mark so often that if the raping-Indy theme were valid, then Matt and Trey should be making an episode about how they are raping the South park gang, over and over and over again.

Of course, they would probably love that idea. But I think that you can see my point.

I saw that episode and I think that South Park is slipping after all of these years. They practically beat a dead horse repeatedly.

We get it already! We know that they raped Indy.
