Scattercast is 37 -cough- and not -cough- feelin’ -cough- the best…
- Well, pollen or whatever it was last week turned in to full on bronchitis.
- I really need to record some “emergency” episodes of Scattercast so you wouldn’t be stuck with this ten minutes of lameness.
- Last week was a really, really good week on this blog, and I thank every one for that.
- Hear my voice go, hear me drink tea!
- Sorry for the shortness folks!
That’s it for this week… there may be a surprise during the week next week!
Here’s

Say what you will about Sacha Baron Cohen, but there is no denying his willingness to push the envelope.
In 2006 he made a splash with his film Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Sure, it wasn’t for everyone, but when you really watched it, you started to see the message in there that asked that everyone take a look at themselves. Now he is back with another one of his characters, Bruno, a gay fashion reporter in another look at the United States. The film is either going to be called Bruno or it may end up being called Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt.
Judging by the trailer, we’re in for more of the same, but it somehow doesn’t look tired, mainly due to the reactions of the people around him. I will warn you, this is a “red band” trailer, meaning it contains adult content, and seeing as the first cut of the film received an NC-17 rating, expect very adult humor. Notice it does ask you to enter your date of birth to watch it, so that is the only reason I went ahead and put it up.
As someone who put off watching Borat for a very long time as I thought I would hate it, I can’t wait for Bruno.
It would appear that teachers are no longer waiting to be official teachers before engaing in inappropriate contact with their students.
Lindsay Massaro, a 23-year-old student teacher from Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ, has been arrested over a supposed week long affair ending on Saturday March 28th that she had with an eighth grade student in one of her classes at Frankford Elementary School. According to a press release by the prosecutor’s office she is said to have, “committed acts of sexual penetration and sexual contact with the intimate parts of a minor male.” She has been charged with second-degree sexual assault, third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.
There is no word on how the affair was discovered, but she was taken into custody on Monday, and released from the county jail on Tuesday on $75,000 bail. The conditions of her release includes that she has no unsupervised contact with minors under the age of 16, she is to stay away from the school, have no contact with the alleged victim’s family and to undergo a psychological evaluation.
I have to say this may be a new low in the ongoing teacher sex scandals as this woman didn’t even wait to get her state certificate. Eighth graders are typically either 13 or 14-years-old, so at least she got that part of the trend right.
This women now joins the roll call of teacher sex scandals for 2009!
UPDATE: There seems to be some confusion over the image floating around various news outlets that is supposed to be Lindsay Massaro. Until this has been cleared up I have removed the image. UPDATE 2: I finally have her mug shot and it is what you see up top now. Update in regards to comments: I normally leave my comments alone, but the ones on this post are getting a bit out of hand. You are all entitled to your opinions, but I would request that we try to reign in the language a bit. The name calling, in my opinion, is totally uncalled for. UPDATE 2/17/10: Comments have been disabled on this post due to the general tone that they have taken.
While we all knew it was going to happen, now we know when.
Sex and the City 2 has been given a release date of May 28, 2010, almost two years to the day after the last one which went on to gross $415 million worldwide on a $65 million budget. No budgets have been announced for the second film yet, but all four of the main stars – Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon – as well as series creator/writer/director, Michael Patrick King, have been signed. No word yet on Chris “Mr. Big” Noth, but he has been talking about the film here and there, so it’s safe to assume he will be returning also.
As for what the sequel is about… I’m guessing sex… and the city. Kidding aside, some rumors are floating around, but nothing concrete at this time. One of the ones getting the most play is that a large chunk of the story takes place in London, but I find that a bit difficult to believe as New York City is considered the fifth main character of the series. Never mind that the report has a large typo in it:
“The sequel will include key scenes of Carrie Bradshaw and her husband Big in London, possibly shooting this winter for six weeks.
“Big loses a lot of money and takes a job in London, living alone in a one-bedroom apartment without the five-star luxuries he is used to. Big gets really low and ends up in bed with another woman. He tells carry [sic] everything and she flies out to confront him. After she leaves him she discovers she is pregnant.”
Carry? Sorry, but if you can’t even be bothered to spell the main character’s name correct, I find it hard to trust you as a source.
As for what the actors want to see, well, they seem to be of different minds. Chris Noth is thinking that it is time for Carrie and Big to have babies, although Sarah Jessica Parker kind of shot down that idea in the press junket before the last film. Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda, wants to see the four women go off on a madcap adventure somewhere. Um… if this ends up being called Sex and the City: On the Road To Morocco, there may be problems.
Filming will probably start around September if they follow a similar schedule to the last one.
