Doctor Who Season 5 Trailer

Written by  |  under TV

Doctor Who titleThe premiere of season 5 of the new version of Doctor Who is rapidly approaching, and to whet our appetites, the BBC has released another trailer.

The fifth season of Doctor Who is about to premiere in the UK, and two weeks after that we can expect to see it in the USA on BBC America.  This will be the first season for the 11th Doctor, portrayed by newcomer Matt Smith.  How his Doctor will stack up against previous versions remains to be seen, but the footage we have seen thus far does look fairly promising.

The new footage does show that we will, yet again, be seeing the Daleks.  Is there no way to finally be done with these guys?  Although … the Union Jack on their heads?  Interesting.

Here is the first clip the BBC aired after David Tennant’s last episode.

Yeh, it's getting a bit boring seeing the Daleks every season – I think they worked better as a booster for when the ratings were starting to drop.

Still, they look quite interesting there… like the British Army might be putting them to work or something?

You really don't know Who if you think the Daleks will ever be killed off. THey've been around for 46 years. Do you really think anyone in charge will actually ever kill them off for good?

Of course I don't think the Daleks will ever be killed off completely, but the fact the Doctor constantly thinks they have been killed off has just gotten monotonous. Remember when the new series began it was based off the idea they were all gone with the Time Lords, and now both appear to be back. Just getting tiresome.

From what I've heard, the story is set in World War II and they are working with Winston Churchill. Should be interesting.
