Super Bowl XLV Movie Trailers
The Super Bowl has one big thing going for it every year … movie trailers.
As I stated the other day, I’m not a fan of the Super Bowl, but I do enjoy the insane movie marketing blitz that comes with it each year now. While I think it is silly how much they charge for these ads now ($3 million for a 30-second ad this year), at least it puts all of the commercials for the new summer films in one place.
I’ve gathered up a few of the film commercials, skipping things like Rio, Super 8 and Fast Five. They’re out there if you want to find them, but somehow I can’t bring myself to care about a fifth installment in The Fast and the Furious franchise when I didn’t care about the first four. And, oh yeah, they’re already planning a sixth.
Click below for the trailers of Cowboys & Aliens, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Transformers – Dark of the Moon and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Cowboys & Aliens is still a bit odd looking, but darn it if it doesn’t look like a ton of fun. If you missed it, you can also check out the full trailer, but this new commercial also includes some new footage.
A new Thor commercial with a tiny bit of new footage compared to the trailer.
This is the first thing close to Captain America: The First Avenger footage. Odd that we haven’t seen a trailer for this as of yet, which makes me a little concerned as it comes out in July, but at least we have something to look at now, and … I’ll hope for something more in the full trailer.
A bit of new footage in this commercial for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, but not a whole lot if you’ve already seen the trailer. This is a slightly longer version that what actually aired during the game.
While Transformers: Dark of the Moon has already had a really lame teaser trailer, this commercial is the closest we’ve come to proper footage yet. While the second movie was a complete train wreck, this is supposedly the last film, and I have to say it looks like the “danger” has been ramped up considerably in this one if those are invasion ships hovering over Chicago.
Don’t worry, I am still certain this one will suck like the other two.
