James Bond 23 is finally preparing to go before the lenses to meet its Nov. 9, 2012 release date.

After numerous delays due to financial issues, Daniel Craig is preparing to don the tuxedo again and step into the shoes of James Bond.  Speaking with Showbiz 411 at a recent film premiere, Mr. Craig said that he expected to begin work this coming week on the film and that would mean “a lot of working out.”

Meanwhile, James Bond site MI6 reported that producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson met with officials in Turkey this week to finalize a deal that would see the opening sequence of the film, which will make up 15 to 20 minutes of footage, would be shot in and and around the famous city of Istanbul. “The opening scenes are planned to be filmed in Istanbul, but some other places will also be used outside Istanbul for the film,” said Ertugrul Günay, Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister. He went on to add, “Such is the appeal of the series that many of the locations where Bond films have been filmed in the past have continued to attract Bond fans to visit many years down the line. The fact that the opening scene of the film will be made in Turkey will contribute to Turkish tourism. The ministry has been providing big support to the film sector for five years. We have made a concerted effort in the past five years to support the film sector and our aim continues to be to welcome international film crews to our country for filming.”

This will be the third Bond film to have scenes take place in Istanbul, the other two being From Russia With Love and The World Is Not Enough.

The title of the film has still not been announced, but it’s good to see things finally moving forward on this long awaited film.
