Jungle Book takes a third weekend at the box office bit.ly/26KhB1k
While it isn’t unheard of two sequels to film at once, I don’t think anyone has ever tried to film three at once. Leave it to the master egoist James Cameron to consider it.
According to Sigourney Weaver, who starred in the original Avatar, there is definitely more films on the way. Speaking with Showbiz 411 while doing promotion for the TV show Political Animals, Ms. Weaver said that there would definitely be follow up films to the highest grossing film of all time. While originally it has been said there would only be a second and third film in the series to be filmed at the same time, the new report suggests there will be three of them.
This is not attributed to an actual quote, but a mention by the author of the story, Roger Friedman. Considering the other acts of ego Cameron indulges in on a regular basis, this wouldn’t surprise me in the least. How they would perform at the box office is anyone’s guess because no one saw the monster success of the first one coming. I will say, however, there are a few definite strikes against the other ones copying the success of the original, namely that 3D has now been done to death.
We’ll see how this turns out, but if it is even remotely successful, Cameron is sure to let us know about it … endlessly.
