Bryan Singer, the man behind a large chunk of the X-Men movies, is set to be the executive producer on a reboot of The Twilight Zone.
According to Entertainment Weekly, CBS TV is working with Bryan Singer to bring The Twilight Zone back to television. There are no other talents connected to the project yet, and no word on a network showing any interest as of yet. (Just because CBS TV would produce the series doesn’t mean it would be the one to air it.)
The project is considered to be in the very early stages of development, and that could mean it could off the rails on a moments notice.
To be honest, I’d be fine with that. To attempt to recapture the magic created by Rod Serling between 1959 and 1964 would be nearly impossible. You can watch any episode of that series and it will continue to hold up today. The odds of that magic being recaptured are slim to nil. It was probably inevitable that someone would attempt this, but that doesn’t mean they should.
