After numerous rumors, it seems that Alice in Wonderland 2 is moving forward as Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska have agreed to return to their roles.
Tim Burton will be sitting out the follow-up to his $1.02 billion hit, but Disney is to set on trying to duplicate the success of the first Alice in Wonderland. How successful it can be without Burton’s unique viewpoint remains to be seen, but James Bobin is set to give it a try as he takes over the director’s chair.
Alice in Wonderland is set for a Memorial Day weekend 2016 launch, making it one of the first films to officially stake out the 2016 summer season.
