Emilia Clarke has been announced to play the pivotal role of Sarah Connor in the upcoming reboot of the The Terminator franchise.
Apparently Clarke wants to firmly cement her future place at sci-fi and comic book conventions, and the quickest way to do that is to add Sarah Connor to her resume in addition to playing Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones.
The new Terminator film is the first of a planned new trilogy that will also involve a new TV series that will intersect with the three films over the course of their run. No word as of yet if Clarke will be involved in that side of the project as well.
In addition to the mother of the future savior of the human race being cast, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be reprising the title of the role of the homicidal robot… because that makes total sense at his age.
The first film is currently rumored to be called Terminator: Genesis and has a targeted release of July, 2015.
