NEVERTHRONERS! To your #got bunkers! This is going to be a rough one!
Joss Whedon may be the most polite film director ever.
When a large film moves in to a city to film it can cause massive disruptions in traffic for many streets around the actual set. Then they can shoot at odd hours and disrupt your sleep as well. (I passed through the set of the fish pile for the 1998 Godzilla a few days after they filmed and it still smelled of fish, it must have been hell on the people who lived there) While it’s awesome to see your city on screen, it can also make you hate the film a little for the inconveniences it causes you.
So, Joss Whedon – the writer and director of The Avengers films – issues an apology to the residents of Seoul, South Korea before the crew even gets there. In all my years of following film production, I have never seen anything like it. Kudos to Whedon and the Avengers: Age of Ultron crew for being awesomely polite.
Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters May 1, 2015.
