Could Twin Peaks be preparing for a return in some form?
Airing on ABC for two seasons beginning in 1990, Twin Peaks was the brainchild of David Lynch and Mark Frost. It was critically acclaimed, but it had a difficult time keeping an audience as it became progressively odder and odder as it delved into a dark underworld dealing with mysticism, “lodges” and other worlds. It was followed up by one feature film – Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me – but it left a lasting impression on the television landscape.
Just recently a complete Blu-ray set was released, something the fans had been clamoring for for years, and the series has returned to the thoughts of many. It didn’t seem like anything else would ever come of that, but then on Friday Lynch and Frost sent out two very odd tweets.

“That gum you like is going to come back in style!” is a line uttered by The Little Man From Another Place in the series when Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) had a vision of the Black Lodge. (That all made sense to folks who watched the series, I promise.) Could Lynch and Forst be implying the series is coming back in some way? Maybe webisodes? A new TV series? A second film? The possibilities are endless. They certainly left us with enough unanswered questions and hints at past events.
Of course, it could also be a reboot, but it is really difficult to imagine other people playing any of those roles.
Count me in, though. I’m always ready for a damned fine cup of coffee.
