Jubilee added to the mutant lineup of X-Men: Apocalypse

Jubilee comics

Bryan Singer announced on Wednesday that fan-favorite X-men Jubilee would be joining the roster for X-Men: Apocalypse.

Singer once again took to his Instagram account on Wednesday to announce that he had cast newcomer Lana Condor in the role of Jubilation Lee, better known as Jubilee. The character was originally introduced in 1989 in Uncanny X-Men #244, and pretty much became an instant hit with fans. She went on to play a starring role in the X-Men cartoon where she gained even more fans.

Jubilee actually appeared in the first three X-Men films although she never had any dialogue and was played by two different actresses. Hopefully this time she will actually get to speak.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up for this to be a meaty role as Singer announced many mutants for X-Men: Days of Future Past, most of whom did use their powers, but didn’t have much to do in that film.

X-Men: Apocalypse will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.

I'd officially like to welcome our newest mutant #JubilationLee, #Jubilee @LanaCondor to #XMEN #Apocalypse
