In the ongoing saga of the Showtime revival of Twin Peaks, David Lynch has returned to the fold.
Last month David Lynch announced he was dropping out of the Twin Peaks reboot over budget concerns. The cast then rallied around him making it appear that the entire production may fall apart.
Well, good news, folks. Lynch has returned to the production and he is bringing even more content with him. Showtime president David Nevins released a statement last Friday saying, “This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever.” He went on to add, “Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Preproduction starts now!!”
We have no idea how many more hours it will run now, but all that really matters is that Lynch is involved. As a long time fan of the show, I couldn’t imagine it being done without him and I was ready to skip it if it had gone forward. Now I’m back in the fold.
All of that being said, this is still Lynch we’re talking about. Don’t be surprised if there is more drama along the way.
