Hoo boy... looks like we may get to spend the summer cleaning out our Netflix queues twitter.com/Variety/status…
The story behind the new Twin Peaks episodes is becoming as convoluted as the show itself.
According the Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer) and Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne), the number of episodes has been doubled. Showtime has confirmed there will be more than the nine originally announced, but stopped from saying how many exactly.
Lee and Fenn also confirmed that Twede’s Café in North Bend, Washington would again become the Double RR Diner for the series, but it’s taking some work. The interior of the restaurant was destroyed in 2000 by a fire, and now looks nothing like it did in the 1990s. Showtime is renovating it back to that 1990s look so that the series can use it again. I’m not sure why they couldn’t have used the fire story for the fictional version of the location, but it will be nice to head back to the Double RR for a damn fine cup of coffee.
Twin Peaks will air some time in 2016 on Showtime.
