The Boss takes down Batman and Superman at the box office

Men in tights are no match for the Queen of the box office.

Melissa McCarthy once again proved she is critic-proof by winning the top spot at the box office this weekend by a narrow margin. The Boss took in $23.48M in its opening weekend off of a $29M budget.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice came in a very close second with $23.43M. It now stands at  $296.68M domestically and $486.8M foreign for a global total of $783.48M off of a $250M budget.

Zootopia is still going strong and landed in third place this week with $14.35M for a new domestic total of $296M and a global total of $852.51M.

Fourth place went to My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 with $6.42M for a new domestic total of $46.75M. Globally it stands at $70.85M.

Rounding out the top five was Hardcore Henry with $5M.

The biggest releases next weekend are Barbershop: The Next Cut, Criminal and The Jungle Book.
