NEVERTHRONERS! To your #got bunkers! This is going to be a rough one!
Scary movies seem next to impossible to beat any more.
The Conjuring 2 was able to scare up $40.35M this weekend to win the box office. Combined with its foreign take the film stands at $90.35M off of a $40M budget.
Warcraft opened soft in the U.S. with $24.35M off of its $160M budget. Not everything is doom and gloom, however, as it stands at $286.1M globally.
Now You See Me 2 opened slightly lower than the original film with $23M, but seeing as the budget is estimated between $90 to $100M, that’s going to make hitting profit a bit tougher this time around.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows dropped 58.1 percent in its second weekend to take in $14.8M That puts it at $61M in the U.S. and $116.33M globally off of its $135M budget.
X-Men Apocalypse rounded out the top five with $10M and now sits at $136.37M in the U.S. and $478.46M globally off of a $178M budget.
Next weekend’s big releases are Central Intelligence and Finding Dory.
