Disney is close to being unstoppable this year it seems.
Finding Dory opened to the biggest release ever for an animated film taking in $136.18M. It seems people were ready to head back under the ocean with the forgetful fish.
Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart had a good opening for their new comedy Central Intelligence taking in $34.5M. With good reviews and CinemaScore most projections have it hitting $100M more in its theatrical run.
The Conjuring 2 slipped to third and took in $15.55M to now stand at $71.73M domestically and $187.93M globally off of its $40M budget.
Now You See Me 2 fell to fourth place with $9.65M for a new domestic total of $41.36M, trailing behind the original by quite a bit.
Warcraft nosedived to land in fifth place with $6.52M, falling 73 percent. Globally it stands at $377.61M off of its $160M budget, showing it is finding audiences elsewhere.
Next weekend’s big releases are Independence Day: Resurgence, The Shallows and Free State of Jones.
