Animated films are dominating the box office this summer.
The Secret Life of Pets soared to the top of the box office this weekend with an impressive $103.17M off of a $75M budget.
The Legend of Tarzan had a decent second weekend dropping only 46.5 percent to take in $20.61M for a new total of $81.41M. Globally it sits at $135.41M off of a $180M budget.
Finding Dory slipped to third place taking in $20.35M and a new domestic total of $422.58M and globally sits at $642.78M.
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates opened softly with $16.6M off of a $33M budget.
The Purge: Election Year slipped 62.9 percent to take in $11.7M to stand at $58.11M off of its $10M budget. It’s running ahead of the second film in the series, so my guess is this won’t be the last.
Next weekend’s big release is Ghostbusters.
