Suicide Squad holds on for a third weekend

Apparently the Squad is made of Teflon.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Suicide Squad has been able to hold on to the top spot at the box office for a third weekend. The film took in $20.71M this weekend for a new domestic total of $262.28M. Globally it sits at $572.68M off of its $175M budget.

Sausage Party fell 55.3 percent to hold on to second place with $15.32M. It now sits at $65.32M off of a $19M budget.

War Dogs opened in third place with $14.3M.

The new stop-motion Kubo and the Two Strings landed in fourth place with $12.61M off of a $60M budget.

Rounding out the top five, the Ben-Hur remake landed with a thud taking in $11.35M off of a $100M budget.

The next big releases are Don’t Breathe, Hands of Stone and Mechanic: Resurrection.
