Star Wars The Last Jedi opens strong globally buff.ly/2osk8R3 https://t.co/OmNdEBYQmh
The Han Solo Star Wars film is really starting to fill out with the addition of Lando Calrissian.
As you may remember in The Empire Strikes Back, it was well-established that Lando and Han had a history with one another. What wasn’t covered in the film, but mentioned in many other sourcess, was that Han had won the Millennium Falcon from Lando in a card game known as Sabacc.
Now there is a chance we will see this happen as Lucasfilm announced on Friday that it has cast Donald Glover as Lando in the upcoming Han Solo standalone film. “We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us,” said Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. “These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”
Ah yes, the cape. We can only hope Glover can wear it as well as Billy Dee Williams.
Glover will join Alden Ehrenreich who will be playing the lead role. No official word yet if we will see everyone’s favorite wookie, Chewbacca, but it really seems inevitable. That would be like seeing Laurel without Hardy.
The Han Solo film is currently scheduled for May 25, 2018.
