After days of rumor, it has been confirmed that Woody Harrelson has joined the cast of the Han Solo film.
StarWars.com announced on Wednesday that Woody Harrelson joined the cast of the Han Solo film alongside Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian) and Emilia Clarke. While Harrelson’s role wasn’t revealed, rumors have pegged him as some sort of mentor to the young Solo.
“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody,” film directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller told the site. “His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”
Also of an interesting note, the site ended the news by saying the film will “release in 2018” which adds to the rumors that the release date may be moving from May to December. With Rogue One: A Star Wars Story moving towards $1 billion global, I’m still betting that Lucasfilm is going to decide to stick with December release dates.
