Another weekend, another surprise win at the box office.
In a surprise win this weekend, Split took in $40.1M this weekend off of a $10M budget. Perhaps M. Night Shyamalan is getting some of his mojo back.
xXx: The Return of Xander Cage has proven it is no Fast & Furious with a $20M haul to land in second place off of an $85M budget.
Third place went to Hidden Figures with $16.25M for a new domestic total of $84.23M off of a $25M budget.
Sing took fourth place with $9M and a new domestic total of $249.36M and a global haul of $427.96M off of a $75M budget.
La La Land landed in fifth place this weekend with $8.35M for a new domestic total of $89.68M and a global haul of $173.38M off of a $30M budget.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was in sixth place with $7M but it’s significant as it has now crossed $1B globally off of a $200M budget. While a far cry from the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but it’s still a healthy haul.
This week will see A Dog’s Purprose, Gold and Redisent Evil: The Final Chapter
