Split wins a third weekend at the box office

For the first time in a very long time, Shyamalan appears to have a hit on his hands.

Split is proving to be a bit of a comeback for M. Night Shyamalan. His latest took in $14.58M this weekend. This brings its domestic total to $98.7M off of a $9M budget.

Second place went to Rings with $13M off of its $25M budget.

Despite controversy, A Dog’s Purpose only dropped 40.6 percent in its second weekend to land in third place with $10.82M and a new domestic total of $32.92M off of a $22M budget.

Fourth place went to Hidden Figures with $10.1M for a new domestic total of $119.4M off of a $25M budget.

La La Land held on to fifth place this weekend with $7.45M for a new domestic total of $118.3M and a global haul of $268.3M off of a $30M budget.

This week will see Fifty Shades Darker, John Wick 2 and The LEGO Batman Movie.
