This sums up beautifully what I have found every time I've visited Manchester. We stand with you one year on.… twitter.com/i/web/status/9…
Freeform is getting into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a big way, and to that end, it dropped two big pieces of news on Wednesday.
First up, we have the first trailer for Cloak & Dagger which will debut sometime in Winter 2018.
I’ll let Marvel explain the series for you:
“Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.
This does appear to be changed from the comics it appears and we don’t have to face Tandy and Tyrone being used as test subjects for underground drug production to get their powers.
Overall… I like the vibe. I would have checked it out anyway, but they have my attention.
Second up, Freeform announced the team members of the New Warriors. We already knew Squirrel Girl, but now you can also look forward to meeting:
Night Thrasher and Speedball we’re pretty much guaranteed to make the cut in my opinion. The other three I admit I have no idea who that are, but I’m not surprised by that as Marvel has rotated the roster of the New Warriors numerous times over the years.
New Warriors will also debut some time in 2018.
Characters clockwise from top: Zack Smith (Microbe), Dwayne Taylor (Night Thrasher), Craig Hollis (Mister Immortal),
Doreen Green (Squirrel Girl), Deborah Fields (Debrii) and Robbie Baldwin (Speedball).
