Fate of the Furious wins a quiet third weekend

There are odd weekends at the box office, and then there’s this weekend.

Fate of the Furious took in $19.38M for a new domestic total of $192.72M. It’s definitely not living up to the past couple films in the U.S., but never fear, it is has taken in $867.6M foreign for a global total of $1.06B off of a $250M budget.

Second place is where this weekend gets odd. How to be a Latin Lover, with only 1,118 screens, came in second with $12M or $10,750 per screen.

Third place went to an Indian film, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion with $10.13M off of just 425 screens for a whopping $23,855 per.

Fourth place saw a very disappointing opening for The Circle which took in $9.32M off of a $18M budget. Thank goodness the budget was low as it scored an amazingly low D- CinemaScore.

The Boss Baby took in $9.05M in its fourth weekend for a domestic total of $148.46M. Combined with the foreign haul it now sits at $375.84M globally off of a $125M budget.

This week will see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

Curious how I think these films will do? Check out my The Movies of 2017 – 2nd Quarter report.
