If you didn’t see this weekend’s win coming, you’ve been living under a rock.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 won the weekend with $63M and a new global haul of $630.56M off of a $200M budget. It looks like the sequel will easily surpass the original’s $744M global total.
Second place went to Snatched $17.5M off of a $42M budget.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword opened extremely weak with $14.7M off of a $175M budget. Globally it sits at $43.8M so things are not looking good.
Fate of the Furious landed in fourth with $5.3M for a new domestic total of $215M. Its foreign haul sits at $978.4M for a global total of $1.193B off of a $250M budget.
The Boss Baby took fifth place with $4.6M for a domestic total of $162.37M and a global total of $444.17M off of a $125M budget.
This week will see Alien: Covenant, Everything, Everything and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul.
