Despicable Me 3 is still a formula that works apparently. The film took in $75.41M domestically and $116.9M foreign for a $192.31M global haul off of a $80M budget.
Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver opened solidly in second place with $21M off of a $34M budget.
Transformers: The Last Knight slid to third place with a 62 percent drop to take in $17M and brings its domestic total to $102M and globally to $429.9M off of a $217M budget.
Fourth place went to Wonder Woman with a healthy $16.1M for a new domestic total of $346.64M. Combined with its foreign numbers it now sits at $708.44M globally off of a $149M budget.
Cars 3 landed in fifth place with $9.52M for a domestic total of $120.71M and a global haul of $173.81M.
This week will see Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters.
