Hitman’s Bodyguard wins worst box office weekend in 15 years

This ended up being the worst weekend for the box office in over 15 years. No one got out unscathed.

Sitting at the top of the box office this week is The Hitman’s Bodyguard with $10M, a 52 percent drop from last weekend to now stand at $39.61M domestically off of a $30M budget.

Annabelle: Creation held on to second place with $7.35M for a new domestic total of $77.88M off of a $15M budget.

Third place went to Leap! which opened with $5M, for just $1,948 per screen. Not an awesome start for the Weinstein’s first foray into animation.

Wind River expanded wide this weekend to take in $4.4M for a new total of $9.8M off of a $11M budget.

Fifth place went to Logan Lucky with $4.36M for a new domestic total of $15M off of a $29M budget.

There are no major releases this week… so expect a really lackluster Labor Day weekend at the box office.
