It’s always mildly concerning when a review embargo falls after something has been released.
CBS has set an embargo for Star Trek Discovery after the series has premiered. Adding to the concern, the embargo only applies to press that attends premiere events in New York and Los Angeles. No screeners are being released, so reviewers who don’t make it to those events have no shot at seeing it early.
Star Trek Discovery is set before Kirk took command of the Enterprise and will show viewers the earliest days of Starfleet.
The first two episodes will premiere on CBS All Access in the U.S. on Sept. 24. Netflix has the rights in other territories and will get the episodes the day after they are released in the U.S.
Here’s hoping it’s good.
