Tyler Perry isn’t scared of bad reviews.
First place went to Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween with $21.65M off of a $25M budget. All of this despite only scoring 8 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Once again proving Perry is review-proof.
Geostorm opened in second place with $13.3M off of a $120M budget. In other words, the disaster isn’t just on screen. The film racked up $15M in reshoot costs a year after principal photography wrapped.
Third place went to Happy Death Day with $9.37M for a drop of 64 percent. It now stands a domestic total of $40.68M off of a budget of $4.8M.
Blade Runner 2049 came in fourth with $7.15M. It now stands at $74M domestically. With its foreign haul, it sits at $194.1M off of a $150M budget.
Rounding out the top five was Only The Brave with $6M off of a $38M budget.
Major releases this week include Jigsaw, Suburbicon and Thank You for Your Service.
