Logan’s Run reboot picks up a writer from the Hunger Games

It’s time for another Carrousel ceremony!

According to a report from Deadline, Warner Brothers is no longer just toying with a remake of Logan’s Run, but has actually signed on crew. Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2 scribe Peter Craig is apparently onboard to write the script and Simon Kinberg is moving from his first directing job on X-Men: Dark Phoenix to this project.

This new version of Logan’s Run would remake of the 1976 film which, in turn, was based on a novel of the same name. The protagonist this time is rumored to be a female, which would seem to suit Craig’s sensibilities.

I’m not big on reboots, but this is one I might actually get behind. I love the original film, but it is definitely stuck in a 1970s idea of future technology. It would be interesting to see what a 21st century take on this would be more than 40 years later.

And, honestly, no one listens to my complaints about reboots, so it isn’t like I’d be able to stop this anyway.
