Joker stand-alone film reportedly filming in September

Warner Brothers has multiple Joker films in the pipeline, and it appears at least one of them is filming this year. According to Omega Underground, the stand-alone origin film will begin filming in September.

If you’ve lost your “Joker Movie Project Scorecard,” this is the film set to star Joaquin Phoenix with Martin Scorsese producing and Todd Phillips directing.

This particular film will apparently be set in the 1980s and will not be connected to the overall DC Extended Universe. It would seem that Warner Brothers has decided that there can be multiple films and actors of a character at any time. Because that won’t be confusing at all.

No word yet on a release date for this particular project, but it is sure to be announced soon. With San Diego Comic-Con on the way, expect more news there.
