Ralph Breaks the Box Office for a Third Weekend buff.ly/2L9vlNY https://t.co/sXjKyf2Ovh
Today marks the third day in a row I have discussed some form of reboot of an older property. Can we just stop the insanity now?
I’ve already discussed ALF and Fantasy Island this week, and now it’s… The Fact of Life. Yes, the nine season (I can’t believe it went that long) sitcom from the 1980s about an all-girls school. One has to wonder if we’re working backwards and this time Diff’rent Strokes will spinoff from a new Facts of Life.
Where this reboot, in particular, gets odd is that apparently Leonardo DiCaprio and Jessica Biel are in talks to be executive producers.
Wait… what? Maybe they were fans of the original? I have no clue, but it’s puzzling to say the least.
At this point, I just don’t even know what to say any more. Is it really that much easier to reboot something then to develop something new? Is the name recognition that important? Remember, we are talking about properties that 30 to 40 years old now.
I’m just befuddled, but I really don’t think we need to revist the Facts of Life.
