The House With a Clock in its Walls Chimes a Win at the Box Office

Things changed significantly this weekend, and not in a good way.

First place this weekend went to The House With a Clock in its Walls with $26.85M off of a $42M budget.

A Simple Favor had a healthy hold dropping 35 percent and taking in $10.4M. Domestically it has hit $32.56M and $10M foreign for a total of $42.56M.

Third place went to The Nun with $10.25M for a new domestic total of $100.89M. This makes the fourth film in the Conjuring series to break $100M domestic. The only one not to make it was Annabelle with $84M. Overseas it sits at $144.8M for a global total of $245.69M off of a $22M budget.

The Predator dropped to fourth place with a drop of 64.7 percent to take in $8.7M. This brings it to $40.43M in the U.S. and $35.74M overseas for a total of $76.17M off of an $88M budget.

Fifth place went to Crazy Rich Asians with $6.51M. Domestically it sits at $159.43M and globally is at $206.43M off of a $30M budget.

This week’s releases include Hell Fest, Smallfoot, and Night School.
