Netflix canceling Iron Fist seems to have thrown people off. It happens, TV shows end. Sometimes unceremoniously. Sometimes they’re planned. At the end of the day, however, every TV show will come to an end.
Iron Fist now has the claim to fame of being the first Marvel show canceled at Netflix. It had to happen to one of them at some point, and it feels right it was this one. (I don’t count the talk of no second season of The Defenders as a cancelation, it was only ever planned for one.) Iron Fist just didn’t grab audiences, and that’s fine. It’s not like there aren’t four other Marvel shows for you to choose from on Netflix alone.
There’s also every chance these characters will still pop up in the other Netflix shows. Marvel could always revive the series somewhere else. But if it’s gone, it’s gone. It sucks to be sure, but with the amount of excellent TV on the air these days, it has to happen to someone.
