After more than a year of speculation, the Mad About You revival finally found a home. The surprise, however, is that it is at Charter Communications. As in the cable company.
I wasn’t even aware Charter does original programming, but apparently, it does.
“We are so excited to finally be doing this and thrilled to have Peter Tolan as our fearless captain,” said Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt in a statement. “We promise you the same funny and heartwarming show – as soon as we can remember what’s funny about being older. It’s going to be great!”
I mean, good for them, and I know Charter is a large company, but this just feels so tiny and specific. And I understand there are people outside of the U.S. who wonder why they don’t get certain shows, so this is very much a first world problem, but…
Charter? Really? Maybe when it’s a revival of one of the biggest shows of the 90s and you can’t get anything above Charter perhaps it’s time to think no one is looking for this revival?
