Marvel scores one of its biggest wins yet at the box office.
Coming in first, to the surprise of no one, was Captain Marvel. The film took in $153M domestic and $302M foreign for a grand total of $455M.
How to Train Your Dragon 3 took second this weekend with $14.69M. That brings it to $119.66M domestic and $435.16M global off of a $129M budget.
Third place went to Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral with $12.05M for a new domestic total of $45.87M.
LEGO Movie 2 landed in fourth place with $3.82M. This brings its domestic total to $97.1M and a global total of $164.4M.
Rounding out the top five was Alita: Battle Angel landed with $3.2M. Domestically it sits at $78.34M, and globally at $382.65M off of a $170M budget.o
This week’s wide-release will be Captive State, Five Feet Apart, and Wonder Park.
