Warner Bros. reportedly concerned over Depp in Fantastic Beast films

It seems some at Warner Bros. are coming a bit concerned over Johnny Depp continuing in the role of Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts movies.

Depp was revealed at the end of the first Fantastic Beasts film to be playing Grindelwald, the top bad guy for this five-film series. There were immediate concerns over his inclusion as allegations were coming out of the abuse of his now ex-wife, Amber Heard. JK Rowling, creator of Harry Potter stood by his casting, and he remained in the role for the second film.

The third film is now preparing to begin filming this fall, and there are some new concerns over his continuing in the role.

According to Page Six, executives are growing concerned about his ongoing legal issues with Heard and whether or not he should continue in the films.

The thing is, this is such an easy fix. You are in a world of wizards for crying out loud. The character was in disguise for the majority of the first film, so it’s easy enough to do that again and he gets stuck in that disguise. Oops.

Look, his legal issues are going to continue. Even if he is found not guilty people will always wonder, just switch him out. It’s not that big of a deal.
