Laura of TLD Cocker Spaniels has her hands full with cocker spaniels at the moment. (For those who follow along, Laura was the breeder of my Winston and Patrick) Besides her usual puppies, which the current litter is ADORABLE, she has three adults that need homes.
Pictured here is Monte. He was born December 16th, 2006, and is fixed, house broken, and knows multiple commands (sit, shake and so on). His owner sadly had a stroke and is no longer able to take care of him. I feel horrible for the little guy, so before I go and do something stupid/silly, please someone give him a good home!
She also has two 2-year olds she is retiring from her breeding program, Jackson Brown and Kristee. Both have wonderful pedigrees and used to being indoors.
If any of the adults interest you, check them out at her site.
ETA: Monte has a home! The other two still need them!
We built the dogs a makeshift crate at work that we can lock them up quickly when the UPS man comes. Patrick likes to lay on top of things, why, I have no clue, but he does. So, it took him no time at all to figure out he could jump in a chair and then on top of the crate, and lay down.
We’ve since blocked his access.

The breeder I got Patrick and Winston from, TLD Cocker Spaniels, has a new litter! They have the same mother as P & W, but a different daddy. You can see pictures of them here. Why am I posting this? So someone will hopefully take this one, and my mother will stop looking at him!
All the guys went for grooming today!

You can see all the pictures from today in my gallery
I haven’t posted pics of my boys in awhile, and with the snow today, it seemed like the perfect opportunity.

Patrick and his snow nose

Teddy…Man Of Action!

Again…I swear Winston is looking at you!

Teddy and his Rough Riders!
Yes…they have coats…they are sexy.
First I woke up an hour late.
As I was rushing out the door, I hear a very lite knocking. Some religious freak wanted to talk to me about their religion. I told them to take there hooky religions elsewhere.
Then I had computer break downs at work…problems with a contract on an order for the other company…was just a disaster of a day.
Then you see something like this

The day seems better for some reason!
Thank you to every one who called/commented/emailed me to ask how Winston was and to offer advice on how to take care of him. It meant a lot. I won’t lie, I love all three of them, but Winston leads in the favorites by a nose, I have no clue why.
Just to update everyone, his last vomiting was around 7 PM CST on Wednesday night, and per vet’s instructions, I kept him off food and water until this morning, and then it was just small amounts. He’s been a bit lethargic today, but with bursts of energy. Right now he is wrestling with Teddy and Patrick and he instigated it, so I take that as a good sign. I will be bringing him back to full food and water on Friday, but while being monitored.
The stress of last night was added to by an ice storm and my being the only one home. So taking them out was an adventure as I had to do it on leads because their usual place is the backyard and that involves going down a flight of wooden stairs. Patrick got out there once while I was checking it and, yep, he flew down the stairs. (he’s fine)
So again, thank you everyone, it meant a lot!
I have stuff I want to blog about, but just can’t be bothered tonight. Winston isn’t feeling well and has, thus far, vomited 10 times. I have talked to the vet, and I am following his suggestions (no food or water tonight, maybe some Pepto Bismal if it continues. Add on top of that we’re having an ice/snow storm, it’s just not a very “blogging” type evening.
Awww it would seem Teddy thinks he is as big as the other boys.

Not that you needed another fight picture, but I loved that Winston’s eye shine looks like my confused face o_0

When I leave the office, this is what I come back to in my chair.

And if I don’t disturb him for a few minutes, it must mean the chair is his bed.

But there are rare moments of group peace.

Teddy didn’t get up on his own, but it seems the guys are accepting him being up there.

Overall, the night went a LOT smoother than I anticipated!
So…for 30 years we had buff (blonde) dogs in our lives. First there was Polly, a cockapeekapoopom (i.e. mutt), we lost her after 18 years, when I was 20. Three weeks later we got Beau and had him until May 11th of this year. While we love Patrick and Winston with all our hearts, we still were missing the buff color. Enter Stephanie at Classy Country Cockers. We found her through Laura at TLD Cocker Spaniels, where we got Patrick and Winston. She recently had a litter that was a mix of buffs and blacks and…well…long story short, there was one lone little buff boy left who needed a home and….meet Theodore Roosevelt.

He will be joining our family next week, either Tuesday or Wednesday. I have laid down the law, THERE WILL NOT BE A NUMBER FOUR! (I hope)
They were in a posing mood today, so I couldn’t resist!

Their first album cover?

You can almost make out Patrick’s first “Cocker cut”

Until we got them their cocker cuts, Winston had enermous bangs and you could never see his eyes for all the hair.
So, yep, they’re doing good. We won’t discuss what’s happening to them in a few weeks *cough*getting fixed*cough*
Been quite awhile since I posted any pictures of Patrick and Winston, and since Saturday was their 6 month birthday, I figured it was about time!
Winston and HIS couch…believe me, he thinks it’s his.
The bathroom at work is off limits…except when the vacum cleaner is running it would seem
He worked his little heart out jumping and down to do it, but he did it…much to Winston’s dismay

mmhmm…Winston under the couch

"Who? Me?!? I wasn’t under the couch!"

|
Yep…he’s still dreaming of getting on the couch

This is Patricks favorite way to sleep. |

I know some people don’t like crates, but when you
are the only one home, and you need a shower, you have to. They now have a bigger one, but Patrick under the mattress killed me. |

He seemed perfectly content…

Until Winston decided he was alone in the crate and layed on him.

I have no clue why they have adopted this plastic tub lid as a bed

They love it though

Saturday was a full day for the puppies and they had their first encounter with a non-Cocker Spaniel dog. My mother’s brother was visiting grandma, and, as always, he brought his Doberman Pincher, Chico, with him. I was out back with Winston and Patrick, everything was going swimmingly, when suddenly Chico showed up and stood outside their fence. Winston barked wildly, and Patrick…let out a sound I am not sure can be put in to words. Chico let out a small bark, but then got scared off by my guys.
All was fine, no one got bit, but Patrick was massively traumatized by the whole thing. After I brought them in the house he continued to bark for a half-hour, sure Chico was still out there. I took them back out, he saw no one was there, and he still randomly barked all night. I thought I had him broken of it until he saw his reflection in the fire place doors. He went off all over again. Poor little guy.
The funniest bit was how Winston would just watch him and once in awhile would look at me with an expression of “What in the world is he going on about?” It wa snice to see though that Winston is very, very caring of Patrick and walked over to him several times to try to comfort him. (licking his face, pressing his body against him)
