Welcome to another week of the daily edition of CobWEBs, the flagship podcast of The Cynical Bastards!
For those who don’t remember from the other episodes, this is a new format for the show as we are going to try giving you daily bite sized chunks of our patented brand of cynicism over everything in the tech universe. The show will have a rotating host schedule between Steven Hodson, Mark ‘Rizzn’ Hopkins and myself. You’ll always get two of us, you just never know which two!
In this episode, Steven and I take our weekly look at what is happening over at TechMeme and Blippy, and for those that make it to the end of the episode, you’ll find a very important message about the future of this podcast … you may be surprised.

In this episode, Steven and I take a look at the Forbes Web Celeb 25 list which … well … it’s beyond flawed. It starts off with Perez Hilton for crying out loud! Oh well, it’s an amusing read.
We follow this up with a discussion that Jeremy Schoemaker of the Shoemoney blog now chooses Bing over Google as his search engine of choice. The two of us have different opinion, but that’s make all of this so much fun.

In this episode, Steven and I take a look at the “shrining” market share of Internet Explorer (HA!), and the looming war.
What war?
The coming war between Apple and Google. Mark my words folks, it’s coming, and considering the war chests these two ego-driven companies control, it could get very, very nasty.

In this episode, Steven and I take a look at the new Verizon ads which, well they’re just funny and making AT&T look sillier and sillier. Here was my favorite of the two.
We also discuss the silliness of how Microsoft employees seem to turn into Mac evangelists once they leave the company. And, of course, what is an episode without some talk about Twitter? And fourth story for the night … Italy is getting nasty with YouTube … in a completely silly fashion and one that may not be entirely legal.

In this episode, Steven and I talk about baking your video card in the oven when you have a problem with it.
No … we’re not kidding.
We also address the Amazon/Macmillan dispute, and how it’s obvious publishers have no idea what they’re doing. (links by Steven)

In this episode, Steven and I do our new weekly game of going through the TechMeme headlines and … well … making fun of them. It’s a thing.
We also take a moment to see how people are spending money on Blippy, and Steven has some comments about a post by MG Siegler over at TechCrunch.(links by Steven) Oh, and P.S. … expect some big things next week!

In this episode, Steven and I talk about Jason Calacanis punking the media, how Amazon & Apple are making money hand over fist, how I might have figured out Steve Jobs ingenious plan to make money and get press coverage 12 months a year. We wrap it up with a lot of speculation about Windows 8. (links by Steven)

In this episode, Steven and I talk about … oh, what was it … some big techie thing … oh yeah, the iPad. While we are somewhat positive about the device, we also tear it apart a bit … I’m still pondering buying one.

In this episode, Steven and I actually praise Robert Scoble for a moment … and then my tongue starts to burn from the concept of actually praising him for once. We then leap over to one of the biggest examples we’ve ever seen of people sharing on social networks just because of the name of the blog attached to it.

In this episode, Steven and I do something a bit different … hey, you try to get annoyed with something every night! Tonight we go through TechMeme’s headlines and just make general comments on each one … and some of the authors. MG Siegler gets his own theme song!
Tonight’s links by Steven is a sampling of what we commented on. This may become out regular Friday night show … oh, and I mock some of the people on Blippy again.

In this episode, Steven and I discuss how “free” may have a rough year in 2010. Oracle bought Sun, which could mean bad things MySQL, an open source database system that powers all WordPress blogs along with many other Web applications. Also, Hulu is going to start charging, and while Steven and I have different readings on how this will work, both ways seem iffy to us. (links by Steven)
